WHO ARE WE?
Established in 2005 by our Founder and Director Sarah Marris, Pets in the City is a professional, reliable, trustworthy and friendly dog care business. Our focus is purely on the dogs we care for, providing them with the mental and physical stimuli needed for a dog’s happiness and wellbeing. Whether you’re looking to use our services for just an occasional walk or on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis, we will endeavour to accommodate your needs.
Why Use Us?
Our business is about the love of dogs… it’s a lifestyle choice.
All our staff are CRB checked and have either worked with or owned dogs previously. They undergo a thorough training regime for at least a month prior to walking any of the dogs in our care by themselves, to ensure staff know and understand the character, personality, energy levels and behaviour traits of each individual dog.
Our focus when caring for dogs is to make sure they are happy, socialised, fully exercised and most of all loved. We don’t believe in leaving the dogs to their own devises by watching whilst they do their own thing, we are fully hands on playing games, running, having cuddles and generally getting involved (this can get mucky in the winter!). This helps to exercise the dog’s body and mind which is so important to a dogs happiness, particularly the more intelligent ones.
Please note we are one of the only dog care companies who are licensed and comply with the Animal Welfare Act of 2018 in our borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we have the highest grade licence achievable in the first year of obtaining a licence. Licence No 19/235420/02.

Sarah first set up Pets in the City in 2005 and has slowly built it up from a one women team to a small successful business catering for all doggy needs.
Lucie Menzies – Manager
Lucie joined Pets in the City with a love for dogs and a passion for animal welfare, after achieving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science and Management at the University of the West of England.
Michaela comes to us with a wealth of experience in dog care having grown up with dogs and looking after them throughout her childhood.
Louise Cassidy – Dog Handler and Cuddler
Louise started at Pets in the City as a volunteer in the grooming parlour in 2013, this time allowed her to
gain invaluable experience and solidified her ambition to be a full time groomer.

Rosie Scorer – Dog Walker
Rosie is an experienced dog walker, handler and holder of an Ofqual Accredited Level 4 Diploma in Dog training, and is dedicated to enriching the lives of the dogs in our care.
Julia is the sister of Sarah Marris (owner of Pets in the City) and grew up on the family farm in Lincolnshire surrounded by working and domestic dogs.

We believe it is important to belong to an organisation that will provide you with reassurance of our professionalism. That is why we are a member of NARP (National Association of Registered Petsitters). NARP is the largest pet care organisation in the UK and they set extremely high standards for the pet and house sitting industry.
