LUCIE MENZIES
MANAGER
Lucie joined Pets in the City with a love for dogs and a passion for animal welfare, after achieving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science and Management at the University of the West of England. She worked for six years in the pet retail and service industry, progressing to the role of assistant manager, before deciding to move to London to seek the expanse of opportunities that the city had to offer. After finding the role at Pets in the City, she decided this would be the perfect place to grow her career and passion.
Lucie’s love for all animals began from a very young age, keeping a menagerie of pets including dogs, rabbits, gerbils, geckos, quail, fish, axolotls, hamsters, tortoises and more. As a child she decided the best way to earn her pocket money was by caring for and walking the family dogs, as this was much more fun than vacuuming! She has experience with breeds big and small, from chihuahuas and Pekingese to golden retrievers and her studies gave her an extensive understanding in animal behaviour, nutrition and husbandry which she applies daily when assisting Sarah in managing the day care.
Lucie loves to be creative, her hobbies outside her animal obsession include drawing – especially pet portraits, cooking and growing her own fruit and vegetables at her allotment in Wiltshire.
